As an SDE II, you will play a key role in building a world-class, frictionless payments solution and merchant experience that helps us scale while retaining customer and merchant trust.

Key job responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality platform solutions supporting diverse customer and merchant use cases for Amazon Pay
• Develop and enhance web-based applications and web services that enable third-party merchants to integrate Amazon Pay
• Design and build large-scale, distributed systems to handle high-volume transactions in a 24/7 environment
• Contribute to the architecture, design, and evolution of new and existing systems focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance

AmazonPay, one of the fastest growing businesses of Amazon, enables e-commerce websites to accept, and customers to utilise the payment information stored in their Amazon.com accounts to pay for goods and services at sites off-Amazon. AmazonPay also enables customers to manage their account preferences and see their off-Amazon transactions. Hundreds of thousands of Users make millions of transactions worldwide on AmazonPay. We develop software at every level of the stack from front-end user interfaces to backend server software and everything in between.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
