As a Technical Writer / Senior Technical Writer at LTSCT, you will be responsible for developing high-quality product documentation that supports semiconductor hardware, software, and firmware solutions. This role requires the ability to understand complex technical concepts—spanning semiconductor technologies, associated subsystems, and software/firmware workflows—and translate them into clear, concise, user-focused content.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and globally distributed teams to gather information, structure documentation, and ensure consistency across deliverables. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong proficiency in structured authoring (DITA), single-sourcing methodologies, and documentation lifecycle management using CCMS platforms. This role demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
Roles & Responsibilities
Create complete, high-quality product documentation from the ground up, adhering to organizational standards and project timelines.
Update documentation to reflect changes in product versions, features, specifications, and industry standards.
Use structured authoring methodologies (e.g., DITA) to create reusable content modules.
Maintain a single source of truth for documentation to support consistent outputs across multiple formats.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams to gather technical information and simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Review and edit documentation for grammar, accuracy, clarity, and technical correctness.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, ISO, and JEDEC when documenting processes or specifications.
Work effectively with both local and global teams across different time zones.
Contribute to the development of standard diagrams, illustrations, videos, and presentations.
Support special projects involving content review, proofreading, editing, and formatting for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably ECE, EEE, CSE), Technical Communication, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in semiconductor hardware, software, and firmware documentation.
Ability to design clear technical diagrams, architecture workflows, and visuals using Visio, Draw.io, or Adobe Illustrator.
Experience using collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Exposure to documentation automation workflows (CI/CD publishing, Git branching, versioning pipelines, or scripted builds).
Proven ability to manage documentation projects throughout the product development lifecycle.
Strong experience with CCMS platforms and structured authoring methodologies to drive content reuse and maintain version control.
Mandatory Skills
Proven expertise in DITA XML authoring and single-sourcing practices.
Proficiency in industry-standard documentation tools such as Oxygen XML Editor or equivalent XML/DITA-based editors.
Experience collaborating directly with SMEs such as design engineers, firmware developers, and validation teams to extract technical information.
Hands-on experience working with product engineering teams, understanding development lifecycles, sprints, and review workflows.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate technical content against design specifications, datasheets, and release notes.
Strong command of English writing, editing, and technical communication standards.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CCMS-based documentation tools, preferably Vasont Inspire.
Experience writing and maintaining programming guides, user manuals, firmware guides, feature descriptions, and release documentation for semiconductors or SoC products.
Experience documenting APIs, AT command sets, SDK workflows, or developer-facing technical content.
Familiarity with semiconductor terminology, chip architecture, block diagrams, and hardware development concepts.
Knowledge of documentation automation, scripting, or Git-based workflows.
Ability to create multimedia content such as short videos, tutorials, or animations for product documentation.
