About The Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend systems that power Aspora’s fintech platform. You will be an early shaper of the design and architecture of the core product & platform, and work closely with the founding team to deliver 10x value to our users.

As an early-stage startup, we pride ourselves on our ability to roll up our sleeves and build from scratch. We will be shipping code frequently and learning as we go while satisfying all critical security, performance, and uptime requirements for our clients.

What You’ll Own

• Design & Develop scalable backend systems that power Aspora’s fintech products.
• Hands-on Coding—write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, ensuring high performance and security.
• Optimize for Scale—build resilient, fault-tolerant systems that handle millions of transactions.
• Collaborate Closely with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless experiences.
• Ensure High Availability—implement robust API architectures, distributed systems, and database optimizations.
• Improve Performance & Reliability—monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize backend processes.
• Prioritize Business Needs—align engineering efforts with business priorities, ensuring rapid iteration and execution.
• Own System Design—architect backend services that are modular, extensible, and scalable.
  
  

• 6-10 years in backend development, preferably in a product-based startup or fintech company.
• Strong ability to design modular, scalable, and high-performing backend systems.
• Ability to write efficient, high-performance code that scales.
• Ability to prioritize product and business needs while making tech decisions.
• Someone who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys building things from scratch, and takes high ownership.
• Strong experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
