To lead and manage Production Planning & Control activities by ensuring effective production scheduling, material planning, inventory control, customer delivery adherence, and optimum resource utilization to achieve organizational objectives in line with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Job Description / Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end Production Planning & Control activities for smooth manufacturing operations.
Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on customer schedules and business requirements.
Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, tooling, and resources for uninterrupted production.
Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Supply Chain teams for effective execution of production plans.
Monitor production progress and ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
Analyze capacity utilization, bottlenecks, and production constraints and initiate corrective actions.
Drive inventory optimization and maintain optimum stock levels for RM, WIP, and FG.
Review customer schedules, forecast changes, and delivery commitments regularly.
Ensure effective SAP / ERP utilization for planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
Monitor and improve OTIF (On Time In Full) delivery performance.
Lead demand planning, production loading, and resource allocation activities.
Develop and implement systems for production tracking, reporting, and planning accuracy.
Conduct regular reviews on production performance, shortages, delays, and dispatch status.
Support new project launches and ensure smooth production ramp-up activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning accuracy, inventory reduction, and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems, and safety standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop the PPC team for effective performance and cross-functional coordination.
AUTHORITY
Approve production schedules and planning priorities.
Coordinate and allocate production loading based on business requirements.
Escalate critical shortages, delivery risks, and production constraints to management.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions for planning and delivery issues.
Review and approve PPC reports, planning MIS, and inventory status.
Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders regarding delivery commitments.
Initiate process improvements related to PPC and inventory management..
JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY
Educational Qualification
BE / B. Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering.
Experience
12 to 18 years of experience in PPC, Production Planning, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Operations.
Experience in Automotive / Aerospace / Precision Manufacturing industry preferred.
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control functions.
Expertise in SAP / ERP systems and planning modules.
Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and capacity planning.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain coordination.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Knowledge of customer scheduling systems and delivery management.
AS9100 QMS and Documentation awareness.
