Summary Of The Role

Levi Strauss & Co. continues to invest in its Enterprise and Distribution & Logistics technology ecosystem to deliver resilient, agile IT solutions capable of supporting a complex, global transportation network. The Engineer II – Transportation Management role is a key contributor to ensuring these investments enable scalable, cost-effective, and data-driven logistics execution across B2B and B2C channels.

This role is part of the Distribution & Logistics IT organization and focuses on transportation systems, integrations, and analytics supporting both internal operations and external logistics partners. The position provides an opportunity to shape an extensible logistics technology foundation while improving freight visibility, service performance, and cost efficiency.

About The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and support transportation solutions across Manhattan TMS, Centiro TMS and CTSI platforms.
• Build and maintain integrations between TMS, SAP AFS / S4 HANA, WMS platforms, and carrier systems.
• Support logistics data exchanges using MuleSoft, REST APIs, XML, JSON, and EDI transaction sets.
• Analyze freight spend, carrier performance, service levels, and network flows using Excel and SQL.
• Develop dashboards and reports using visualization tools and Manhattan SCI to support logistics decision-making.
• Partner with Transportation, Network Strategy, and external logistics providers to deliver technology enhancements.
• Support production operations, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to solution design, system enhancements, and technology roadmap discussions.
• Follow Levi Strauss & Co., engineering standards and best practices, including source control using GitHub.
  
  

About You

Successful candidates will typically bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience supporting or implementing Transportation Management Systems; working experience with Manhattan TMS and/or Centiro TMS is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and SQL for transportation and logistics data analysis.
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Manhattan SCI, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Working knowledge of enterprise integrations using REST APIs, MuleSoft (preferred), and EDI/XML/JSON data formats.
• Experience integrating logistics systems with WMS, SAP AFS and/or S/4HANA (preferred).
• Familiarity with large-scale B2B and B2C logistics operations in global enterprises (preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Effective communication skills and experience working across IT, business, and external partner teams.
