Senior Engineer -Stress

Job Description

The role requires to perform stress analysis of Piping/Pipieline as per the ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, AMSE B31.8, CSA Z662 codes. Exposure to Hydrogen and Nuclear Pipe stress analysis will be considered as an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Uses sound engineering judgment, classical calculations and analysis programs to analyze designs and generate new designs.
• Participates in design reviews and provides specialist piping design advice to other engineers.
• Maintain effective communication with the lead country and coordinate day to day work.
• Independently develops solutions to problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating data. Anticipates potential problems and takes preventative actions.
• Responsible for quality and on-time-delivery of assigned tasks
• Ensure good personal time management and weekly time entry
• Provide input to and support improvements to processes or work instructions
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Familiar with A/G and U/G piping and pipelines and finalizing the stress report
• Must be proficient in using analysis programs such as AutoPIPE, CAESAR II and Navis Works for model check.
• Knowledge in Finite element Analysis Tools – Nozzle Pro, ANSYS or ABACUS.
• Knowledge of international piping standards and design codes such as ASME B31.8, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.3, CSA Z662
• Handle engineering responsibilities for cross-country pipelines, buried pipelines, jacketed piping, and containment piping systems
• Preparation and checking of stress analysis reports in AutoPIPE software. Prepare the nozzle load and pipe support load and coordinate with mechanical and structural as required
• Finalizing stress analysis design basis, critical line list, work procedure, data sheets, support specification / standards
• Responsible for designing and selection of all support types including spring hangers (variable and constant support)
• Qualification of Standard Piping support Details including design calculation and loads verification and finalizing the support type.
• Finalizing Material Requisition, TBE for brought out items like spring hangers, struts, friction pads etc
• Review and approval of Vendor drawings and documents
• Must have the ability and initiative to communicate, gather information and make sound engineering decisions.
• Basic Knowledge in CAD system (e.g. Inventor, Pro/E, Unigraphics etc.)
• Able to work independently and interface with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
