This role sits at the heart of the company's Data Platform and Data Science organization. The Senior Data Program Manager drives complex, cross-functional programs from inception through delivery across data infrastructure and machine learning systems. The role serves as the connective tissue between engineers, data scientists, analytics engineers, and business stakeholders — bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to initiatives ranging from data platform migrations to AI-powered product launches. Success means critical programs deliver predictably, dependencies are managed proactively, and the data organization operates with increasing rigor and velocity.
Role & Responsibilities
Own end-to-end program management for multi-team data platform and data science initiatives, from scoping and planning through launch and retrospective
Define program roadmaps, milestones, and delivery timelines while facilitating flexible agile ceremonies tailored to team needs
Proactively identify blockers, surface risks early, and track program health through concise status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries
Develop a deep understanding of the data platform stack — including pipelines, cloud data warehouses, dbt models, orchestration tools, and ML infrastructure — to coordinate migrations and upgrades with minimal disruption
Support Data Science teams across the machine learning project lifecycle, from data preparation and experimentation to model deployment and monitoring
Translate technical concepts into clear business language for executive audiences, and translate business priorities into actionable technical requirements for engineering teams
Serve as the primary coordination point across Data Platform, Data Science, Analytics Engineering, BI Development, Product, Operations, and Finance to manage dependencies and resource planning
Drive operational excellence by identifying process gaps, maintaining program documentation and runbooks, and improving delivery predictability without introducing bureaucracy
Coordinate programs advancing the company's AI enablement strategy, including data readiness initiatives, feature engineering workstreams, and LLM-powered product integrations, while embedding data governance, compliance, and privacy
Must Have Criteria
10+ years of technical program management experience, with at least 2+ years embedded in a data, analytics, or ML engineering organization
Strong understanding of the modern data stack, including ELT pipelines, data warehousing, data modeling, and analytics engineering
Experience managing ML or data science programs, with working knowledge of the ML lifecycle across data preparation, experimentation, model training, deployment, and monitoring
Experience coordinating programs that advance AI enablement strategies, feature engineering workstreams, and LLM-powered product integrations
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple workstreams and stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of writing crisp status updates, meeting summaries, and executive briefings
Proficiency with program and project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Linear, or Notion
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, analytics engineering tools like dbt, or data platforms including Snowflake, Tableau, and StatsSig
Experience supporting generative AI or LLM-based product initiatives
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification
Background working in a fast-growth technology company or startup environment
