Senior Data Engineer

Role Profile:

The Common Reference Data Repository is a centralized service designed to store and share critical reference data across Post Trade processes. It ensures consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of key information used by multiple systems and business lines.

The repository includes structured data domains such as:

Counterparty Data: Legal entities, their hierarchies, business relationships, and associated accounts.

Business Lines & Markets: Reference data for Post Trade business lines and associated markets.

Currency & Exchange Rates: Currency details and conversion rates for all currency pairs by business date.

The ideal candidate will be diligent, tenacious, and delivery-focused, with a track record of building high-quality solutions that are resilient and maintainable.

Role Summary:

• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of technologies and/or subject matter expertise, advising others on design, development, and implementation.
• Advances tools and applications by producing expert code and reviewing others code when required.
• Promotes an inclusive and open culture.
• Develops expertise in software development and gains knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies.
• Builds understanding of strategy and culture, and how they impact own work.
• Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions.
• Understands LSEG’s commercial direction and how technology contributes to it.
• Executes delivery of assigned tasks.
• Builds trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams.

What You’ll Bring:

Essential:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with relational databases, particularly Oracle and Snowflake
• Experience with Behaviour Driven Development / Test Driven Development methodologies
• Proficiency in developing data engineering pipelines using Python, DBT, and Airflow
  
  

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of capital markets and financial services
• Experience working in a distributed team
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience working with Snowflake and DBT
• Experience in scripting languages (Shell, Python, or similar)
