Role Summary

The Senior AI / Data Engineer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing and implementing AI-driven data pipelines, agent systems, and APIs within Lumens FinTech team. Based in India, this role serves as a technical anchor—leading architecture decisions, building reusable frameworks, and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. The Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with stakeholders in India and North America to deliver scalable, production-grade AI solutions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate combines deep engineering expertise with strong communication skills, a bias for action, and a passion for building intelligent systems that drive measurable business impact across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-driven data pipelines, agent systems, and APIs that meet enterprise-grade standards.
• Lead architecture decisions for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Develop reusable frameworks and libraries for agent orchestration and MCP server integration.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive best practices in testing, observability, CI/CD, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to shape technical blueprints and sprint delivery plans.
• Evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to keep the team at the leading edge.
• Support production troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
• Engage with cross-regional stakeholders to gather requirements, present technical solutions, and align on priorities.
  
  

• 6–10+ years of hands-on software or data engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, agent prompt optimization, and automation.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, optimization, and analytics.
• Strong experience with agent-based AI systems and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong experience with API design, including REST, async services, and authentication patterns.
• Cloud-native development experience on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with diverse data stores, including relational, NoSQL, and vector databases.
• Experience with event-driven architectures or workflow orchestration systems.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively across time zones.
  
  

• Experience managing and tuning LLM-based solutions in complex production ecosystems.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation).
• Performance tuning and cost optimization in cloud environments.
• Experience with Databricks or similar unified analytics platforms.
• Background in Finance, FinTech, or highly regulated industries.
