🎯 The Role
As a Senior Data Business Analyst, you will work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, helping our clients design, improve, and govern high‑value data products and data management solutions.
Youll bridge business needs and technical implementation by conducting deep functional and data analysis, defining requirements, and supporting the delivery of high‑quality, reliable, and governed data solutions. This role is highly collaborative and requires strong autonomy, leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
📍 Job location: Pune or Bangalore (Hybrid — 3 days per week in the office)
🕒 Contract type: Permanent
🗓 Target start date: June 2026
⏰ Working hours: Full-time (40h/week), aligned with the GMT timezone (starting at 1:00 PM IST)
💵 Compensation: INR 30,00,000 – 40,00,000 per year

💥 Your Impact
In This Role, You Will
- Perform functional and data analysis, supporting decision-making during the design and mapping of data products, mostly in SQL.
- Investigate functional defects in existing data products and reports, identify root cause issues in data, and recommend changes and improvements.
- Collaborate with the technical team during development to address functional and data-related issues.
- Define test strategies and scenarios for changes and new functionalities.
- Conduct functional tests and provide evidence for Product Owner (PO) approval of changes and new functionalities.
- Develop data mastering solutions and define both conceptual and logical data models.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define physical data models.
- Facilitate workshops with Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Data Owners, and Business Owners to understand data challenges and define target state data management solutions.
- Gather, document, and analyse business requirements for data management initiatives.
- Define current-state processes and design target-state solutions for data management.
- Drive the requirements-gathering process, ensuring alignment with business value and solution architecture.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements.
- Create and manage the product backlog, leading requirement prioritisation and planning.

👤 What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- Proficiency in SQL, with extensive experience in data analysis, data modelling, and functional testing
- 10+ years of experience in Data, BI / Analytics, and Data Warehousing
- Strong experience across:
- ETL and data integration
- Data management and data quality
- Data governance and metadata management
- Solid understanding of data management frameworks, methodologies, and tools (knowledge of DAMA‑DMBOK is a strong plus)
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing:
- Data Management platforms
- Data Lakes and Data Warehouses
- Data Mapping and Data Modelling solutions
- Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and PMI project management methodologies
- Demonstrated experience designing and promoting Data Governance Target Operating Models (TOM), with a focus on Data Quality and Metadata
- Strong knowledge of:
- Fact‑based (fact‑oriented) modelling
- Dimensional modelling
- Conceptual and logical data modelling
- Excellent stakeholder communication and facilitation skills
- Fluency in English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments
- Exposure to large-scale data transformation or governance programmes
- Experience working in international or multicultural contexts
