Your Role

Network infrastructure is the backbone of everything a global science and technology organization does — and as a Network Engineer within the NOC APAC team in Bangalore, you will be at the heart of keeping it running. In this role, you will support the stability, availability, and performance of network services across the APAC region, working as a trusted operational partner to global network teams, IT stakeholders, vendors, and business users.You will manage incidents, service requests, and operational support activities spanning LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, internet access, VPN, routing, switching, and related infrastructure services. Your work will directly contribute to reliable network operations, timely issue resolution, and the continuous improvement of operational processes that the organization depends on.

  • Serve as an active member of the NOC APAC network operations team, delivering support and services primarily during APAC business hours.
  • Own the management of network incidents, service requests, and escalations received through support tickets, monitoring alerts, user reports, and operational processes.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution for network topics including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, internet access, VPN, routing, switching, and connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with regional and global network teams, security teams, service owners, vendors, and business stakeholders to drive effective outcomes.
  • Apply and enforce network and network security standards consistently across the infrastructure.
  • Support planned maintenance activities, change implementation, and operational readiness as required.
  • Deliver a positive and professional experience when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, operational procedures, and knowledge articles to improve service quality and team efficiency.
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support out-of-hours maintenance windows or critical incident response when business needs require it.
  • Bring a global mindset to cross-departmental and cross-regional collaboration, embracing diverse perspectives and cultural differences to drive results.

Who You Are

  • 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in network operations, support, administration, or engineering within enterprise network environments.
  • Proven experience handling incidents, service requests, and operational support for network infrastructure.
  • Solid knowledge of enterprise wired and wireless network technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, internet access, and network security concepts.
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/TFTP, SMTP, IPSec/SSL VPN, QoS, VoIP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, ACLs, VLANs, STP, static routing, and policy-based routing.
  • Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, operational dashboards, and ITIL-based processes.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or ITIL Foundation are preferred, as is familiarity with SD-WAN architectures and concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and structured when managing multiple incidents, priorities, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across regions and cultures.
  • Willingness to support out-of-business-hours maintenance or critical incidents when required, and ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
