Project Role : Scrum Master

Project Role Description : Acts as an enabler for the effective functioning of a software development team using Agile methodologies. Coaches and mentors the Scrum Team(s), removing barriers to successful implementation and enabling a continued focus on the task at hand. Facilitates scrum and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Identifies and reports progress via appropriate metrics.

Summary

As a Scrum Master, you will serve as a key enabler for the effective functioning of Agile software development teams. You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the Scrum Team, facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment between team efforts and business objectives. Your leadership will help the team maintain focus, drive continuous improvement, and deliver high-quality results. You will also act as a single point of contact (POC) across multiple teams, contributing to strategic decisions and ensuring smooth cross-functional collaboration.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Agile project management.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives, and Refinement sessions.
  • Coach and mentor team members on Agile best practices and principles.
  • Foster team ownership and decision-making support the team in reaching consensus.
  • Collaborate with and manage multiple teams, driving team performance and delivering business value.
  • Act as the single point of contact (POC) for key decisions and escalations affecting the team.
  • Identify and remove impediments to ensure continuous delivery and avoid delays.
  • Enable cross-team problem solving by engaging the right stakeholders and support functions.
  • Ensure effective communication between the team and stakeholders, promoting transparency and alignment.
  • Track and report key Agile metrics to assess team health and identify improvement areas.
  • Support release closure activities, ensuring all dependencies and deliverables are accounted for.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary system and tool access for the team to ensure seamless execution and avoid delivery impacts.


Professional & Technical Skills:

  • Must-Have Skills:Proven expertise in Agile Project Management frameworks and practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating core Agile ceremonies.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities in Agile environments.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools, especially JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to interpret and use Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, cycle time) to drive improvements.


Additional Information

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Agile Project Management.
  • Education: Minimum 15 years of full-time education.
  • Work Location: Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad.
