SAP ABAP Developer - Master Data

Your Job

As an SAP MDG (ABAP) Developer at Koch, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing master data governance solutions that enable high-quality, compliant, and scalable data processes across the organization. You will work closely with global teams to build robust SAP MDG capabilities while contributing to long-term value through innovative and efficient technical solutions.

Our Team

You will be part of the Koch Global Services (KGS) SAP Delivery team, supporting Georgia-Pacific and other Koch businesses. Our team collaborates globally to build and support digital solutions that drive data integrity, operational excellence, and business value through SAP platforms.

What You Will Do

• Providing on-shift and on-call support for the NACP business systems applications
• Working with functional and technical teams that are both India and US based.
• Design and develop MDG extensions, enhancements, and workflows
• Build and enhance MDG Data Models, UI configurations, and business rules
• Develop custom ABAP objects (RICEFW) for MDG processes
• Implement and support:
• MDG workflows & BRF+ rules
• Data validations, derivations, and replication mechanisms
• Develop and support interfaces (IDOCs, SOA services, APIs) for master data integration
• Troubleshoot and resolve MDG-related defects and production incidents
• Collaborate with functional teams to understand governance processes and translate into technical solutions
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance through technical solutions
• Executing technical unit test scenarios
• Using your technical and process knowledge to come up to speed on new technologies and tools required for SAP development and support.
• Challenging the status quo and focusing on long term value when designing solutions
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues within the system
• Articulating complex concepts and ideas to functional teams
• Maintaining efficient and reusable code
  
  
  

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience in SAP ABAP development with exposure to SAP MDG
• Hands-on experience with MDG data models, workflows, UI configurations, and enhancements (BADIs, Exits, BTEs)
• Experience in building and supporting interfaces (IDOCs, RFC, BAPIs, APIs)
• Strong understanding of data governance processes, validation, and replication frameworks (BRF+, DRF)
• Knowledge of S/4HANA, ABAP on HANA, and modern SAP technologies (CDS, OData, Fiori/UI5)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a global team environment
  
  
  

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in SAP MDG implementations, rollouts, or multi-domain MDG (Business Partner, Material, Finance)
• Exposure to data migration and data quality management tools/frameworks
• Knowledge of SAP BTP and integration scenarios within MDG landscape
• Familiarity with MDG consolidation or central governance models
• Experience working in a global delivery model with cross-functional stakeholders
