The Role

Key Responsibilities

SAP ABAP Development

• Design, develop, and optimize custom programs using ABAP (Reports, ALV, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms)
• Develop and enhance BDC, BAPI, RFC, BADI, User-Exits, Enhancement Framework
• Build and maintain SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts
• Work on Data Dictionary objects (Tables, Views, Indexes, Domains, Data Elements)
• Performance optimization using SQL tuning, runtime analysis, and debugging techniques
  
  

SAP PI/PO Integration

• Design and implement end-to-end integration scenarios using SAP PI/PO
• Build and configure:
• Integration flows (iFlows)
• Message mappings, Interface mappings, Operation mappings
• Communication channels and adapters (SOAP, REST, IDoc, RFC, File, JDBC)
• Monitor and troubleshoot interfaces using Message Monitoring, Component Monitoring
• Handle error handling, reprocessing, and performance tuning of interfaces
  

System Integration & Interface Development

• Develop IDoc, RFC, Proxy-based interfaces
• Integrate SAP with 3rd party systems (cloud, legacy, APIs)
• Work with EDI interfaces and middleware communication
• Ensure data consistency and secure message exchange
  
  

Support & Maintenance

• Provide L2/L3 production support
• Analyze and resolve incidents, defects, and performance issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive fixes
• Work on change requests and enhancements
  
  

Collaboration & Delivery

• Collaborate with functional consultants (FI, MM, SD, HR, etc.)
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery models
• Prepare technical documentation and unit test cases

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in:
• SAP ABAP (RICEF objects)
• SAP PI/PO 7.4/7.5
• Good knowledge of:
• Web Services (SOAP/REST)
• XML, XSLT, JSON
• SAP NetWeaver architecture
• Experience with:
• IDoc, ALE, Proxy, RFC interfaces
• SAP HANA (preferred: CDS views, AMDP basics)
  

Tools & Technologies

• SAP GUI, SE80, SE38, SE11
• SAP PI/PO Integration Builder, ESR, ID
• Transport Management (CTS)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering
• SAP certifications (ABAP, PI/PO) are an advantage
• Experience in S/4HANA migration or integration projects
• Exposure to SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) is a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Adaptability to fast-paced project environments
  
  

Experience Level

• 8+ years of experience in SAP ABAP with hands-on experience in PI/PO integration projects
  
  

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in API management / SAP Integration Suite
• Knowledge of Fiori/UI5 basics
• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD in SAP
