We are seeking a results-driven Regulatory Certification Engineer with deep experience in getting Cellular product certified. The Regulatory Certification Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that cellular (LTE/5G) and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules meet global regulatory, carrier, and industry certification requirements. This role manages compliance testing, documentation, and approvals to enable smooth product launches across multiple regions and operators.
This role bridges engineering and certification agencies or bodies to guarantee that products meet legal and industry requirements before market release.
Startup or early-stage product experience is highly desirable. The candidate willensure timely and successful certification of module products in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Identify applicable standards (FCC, CE, PTCRB, GCF, BIS, TELEC, etc.) for cellular and Wi-Fi/BT modules.
Manage certification projects with carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Jio, Airtel, etc.) and regulatory bodies.
Prepare and submit compliance documentation, test reports, and certification evidence.
Define and oversee certification test plans (RF, protocol, interoperability, SAR, EMC, Bluetooth SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance).
Coordinate with external labs for PTCRB/GCF, Bluetooth SIG, and Wi-Fi Alliance testing.
Support debugging and issue resolution during certification cycles.
Work with Digital baseband, RF, and software teams to integrate compliance requirements early in product development.
Partner with suppliers and certification labs to align on timelines and deliverables.
Maintain certification records, regulatory databases, and compliance dashboards.
Provide regular updates to engineering, program management, and product teams.
Track evolving global cellular and Wi-Fi/BT regulations and certification requirements.
Implement best practices to streamline certification cycles and reduce time-to-market.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
7-10 years of experience in regulatory or certification engineering, preferably in wireless modules.
Strong knowledge of LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi (802.11 standards), Bluetooth (SIG requirements), RF testing, and certification standards.
Experience working with certification labs, carriers, and regulatory authorities.
Familiarity with wireless protocols, RF front-end, and compliance tools.
