Position Summary:
National Instruments (NI), an Emerson company, is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Regional Business Manager to accelerate growth within the Transportation market across India. In this customer-facing role, you will create and expand demand for NIs products, platforms, and solutions by developing strategic relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and engaging customers through digital campaigns, onsite meetings, industry events, webinars, and thought leadership activities. Working closely with customers, partners, sales teams, and technical experts, you will play a key role in driving market awareness, building pipeline, and supporting long-term growth across the region.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Market Development & Demand Generation
- Generate market awareness and customer demand for NIs products, platforms, and solutions across the transportation industry.
- Develop and execute regional business development strategies aligned with transportation growth objectives.
- Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with prospective customers, influencers, and decision makers throughout the region.
- Develop and execute targeted digital campaigns and demand-generation initiatives in partnership with marketing teams.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through proactive customer engagement and relationship development.
- Identify emerging industry trends, customer challenges, and technology transitions that create new growth opportunities.
2. Customer Engagement
- Conduct regular onsite customer visits and executive-level engagements.
- Develop new customer relationships while strengthening existing connections across engineering, validation, manufacturing, production, and business leadership organizations.
- Facilitate strategic discussions around industry challenges and how NI solutions can enable customer success.
- Organize and participate in customer workshops, seminars, demonstrations, and executive briefings.
- Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for customers within the organization.
3. Industry & Ecosystem Leadership
- Represent NI at industry conferences, trade shows, technical forums, customer events, and company-hosted events.
- Establish and expand relationships with industry associations, system integrators, technology partners, consultants, and academic organizations.
- Support thought leadership initiatives that enhance NIs visibility and influence within the transportation ecosystem.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration that increase awareness and adoption of NI technologies.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with regional sales teams to convert market opportunities into revenue-generating engagements.
- Collaborate with technical marketing, solution architects, application engineers, and product teams to align customer needs with NIs portfolio.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support business planning and product strategy.
- Contribute to account planning, growth initiatives, and strategic business reviews.
5. Business Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activities, market developments, and industry investment trends.
- Identify and prioritize strategic accounts, emerging customers, and high-growth market segments.
- Deliver regular updates on market dynamics, customer engagement activities, demand-generation efforts, and opportunity progression.
- Help shape regional go-to-market priorities and growth strategies.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- 12+ Years of Experience in business development, sales, account management, market development, consulting, or other customer-facing roles.
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and build relationships across multiple levels within customer organizations.
- Strong communication, presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience engaging directly with customers and developing strategic business relationships.
- Understanding of transportation validation, testing, manufacturing, production, or related operational environments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across India.
- Self-motivated approach with strong organizational and relationship-building capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with validation, verification, test, measurement, simulation, or production systems.
- Industry experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, off-highway equipment, agriculture, rail, transportation infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Familiarity with transportation technologies such as software-defined vehicles, electric vehicles, battery systems, ADAS, autonomous systems, embedded software, manufacturing test, or production validation.
- Experience working with engineering organizations, validation teams, test teams, or manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Experience influencing strategic customer investments and long-term technology decisions.
- Knowledge of industry trends and technology transitions within the transportation market.
