Purchasing Agent

Gatan, Inc. is the worlds leading manufacturer of instrumentation and software used to enhance and extend the operation and performance of electron microscopes. Gatan products, which are fully compatible with nearly all electron microscope models and include the EDAX portfolio, cover the entire range of the research process—from specimen preparation and manipulation to imaging and analysis.

We are currently seeking a Buyer located at our Bangalore facility

Essential Skills And Responsibilites

• Places and expedites purchase orders (POs); maintains and updates systems and documentation
• Reviews ERP system for recommended buys and evaluates requirements
• Follows up on ERP recommendations for PO schedule changes
• Works closely with Purchasing team in the United States to understand production needs
• Communicates with internal departments to meet business goals for on time delivery
• Responsible for tracking late deliveries and negotiating returns on defective materials
• Analyzes costs and looks for opportunities for cost savings
• Prepares reports on purchasing activities as requested
• Ability to think strategically while remaining focused on details
• Other duties as assigned

• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• ERP Experience
• Experience working with cross-functional project teams
• Highly motivated
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline
• 1 year of experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment
