Job Summary

The Principal Solution Architect, D&T, HR ABAP possesses in-depth knowledge and experience to work autonomously. The position is responsible for the development and implementation of SAP ABAP Applications. The role is proficient in the areas of SAP ABAP development, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Working in a global environment, this role has a hands-on approach capable of working across teams and time zones.

This role is to lead a technical team and also perform hands-on work using ABAP, Knowledge about HCM process and different SAP products. The work for this position will include interfacing and managing discussions with business stakeholders and process teams as well as handling design end-to-end technical solution within ABAP, harmonization, and business-process analysis. In addition, the position will be responsible to architect, direct, build and support technical side of SAP ABAP.

Experience in Agile development methodology for projects and enhancements are a plus.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Possesses good understanding of overall vision, business needs and the solution architecture for SAP applications. Uses this in-depth knowledge to solve reasonably complex problems.
  • Utilizes knowledge of best practices and acts as a SME to provide the technical solution design.
  • Works closely with the process team to understand the business requirements, review the functional specs, develop technical specs, build the application, unit test the application and support the process team during integration testing
  • Assist in Designs and builds applications with best practices in mind.
  • Investigates and corrects production issues.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

Education

  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the areas specified under Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Work Experience

  • Minimum 10 years Relevant experience in design, development and implementation of SAP applications required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Experience in leading a technical team and providing end to end technical solutions.
  • Experience in technical design with the integration with other system.
  • Strong experience in gathering requirements and as a point of contact to global business / process teams.
  • This role must have good experience in ABAP, OO programming, HR workflows and extensions, forms, ALV Reports, Interfaces & Enhancements
  • Knowledge of OData and CDS View enhancements for is highly preferred.
  • Should possess basic understanding of SAP modules functional aspects
  • Experience in Agile development methodology for projects and enhancements is preferred.
  • Experience gathering requirements and providing technical solution design.
  • experience in ABAP modules

  • HR Standard BAPIs
  • HR WebDynpro development
  • Experience with OData and CDS View enhancements for HR Fiori 2.0 and HANA
  • ABAP OO skills is a must
  • knowledge of ABAP development workbench, Dictionary, Workflows, SAPForms, BAPIs, Enhancement Framework, RFC’s, BADI’s, IDOC, ALE and ABAP OBJECTS, IDoc Queue handling, ABAP Proxy Framework, Change document framework, Conversions and Data load methods, SPAU, SPDD and post upgrade activities, Open-SQL performance tuning
  • Must have excellent analytical, logical problem solving and technological skills.
  • Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced & complex environment with a self-motivated work ethic; utilize sound judgment with an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all times

License and Certifications

  • Sound knowledge of SAP business processes
  • Experience working with ABAP 7.4 > versions

Travel Requirements

20%: Up to 52 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
