Primary Responsibilities

Senior Planning Analyst is responsible for the assortment architecture of a category or department(s) with the goal of meeting/exceeding sales, margin and turn targets. Senior Planning Analysts are primarily responsible for developing the seasonal assortment architecture, quantifying buys, and providing receipt flow guidance with input from Sr/Buyers.

  • Support Sr/Buyer strategic assortment vision
  • Conduct assortment analysis to understand breadth and depth opportunities by channel and define assortment breadth and mix strategy
  • Determine store clusters to drive balanced assortment across the store portfolio
  • Drive Assortment Architecture by leveraging category strategy and assortment analytics to determine breadth by channel and store/cluster
  • Collaborate with Buyer and Private and National Brands on product needs, ticket price, and margin requirements
  • Determine order quantities based on item ranking, lifecycle, sell-through, and store eligibility
  • Support Buyers in preparing for pre/post-market reviews by reviewing assortment plan/buy and reconcile against financials and strategic intent
  • Work with Buyers and Merchandise Financial Planners to determine receipt flow guidance and timing aligned to financial plans
  • Analyze in-season product performance, focused on channel demand; class/category performance, item performance to maximize profitability
  • Manage Item Plans pre-season and in-season Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in Retail
  • Critical thinking, Problem Solving & Decision-making
  • Financial acumen
  • Understanding of product merchandising
  • Assortment quantification experience '
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ability to identify and quantify risks and opportunities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
