About The Team And The Role
The Corporate Legal team at Ather is responsible for safeguarding and managing the company’s extensive Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio, which serves as a critical driver for the future of mobility.
This role is for an autonomous, highly organized, and proactive IP Paralegal and Operations Specialist (Mid-Level) who will independently lead our IP operations and administrative machinery. You will serve as the central anchor for the IP team, managing complex financial workflows, statutory compliance, vendor ecosystems, and cross-functional collaborations to bring structure to a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Statutory Compliance & Docketing: Independently monitor domestic and international statutory timelines (office actions, renewals, filings) and execute formal documentation like Form-1 with inventors.
IP Repository & Bookkeeping: Establish, maintain, and audit physical and digital IP repositories for all Indian IP Offices documents to ensure constant audit-readiness.
Financial & Budgetary Ownership: Drive financial tracking, expenditure monitoring, quarterly provisioning/forecasting, and independently validate and process complex global and domestic attorney invoices.
Audit Leadership: Prepare, manage, and own data delivery for quarterly, annual, statutory, and finance audits within the IP department.
Infrastructure & Platform Governance: Lead regular data validation, cleanup, and tool management inside core IP management software, including handling vendor platform onboarding and renewals.
Brand Compliance & MIS Reporting: Ensure alignment between internal Trademark trackers and public-facing assets while designing monthly/quarterly MIS reports for leadership insights.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for external vendors, manage IT/Admin setup, drive vendor IT audits, and coordinate organizational updates and employee exit checks.
Engagement & Event Execution: Manage IP awards data, procure inventor certificates/trophies, and independently plan, market, and execute internal IP events and annual Ideathons.
Experience And Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B/B.A. LL.B), Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
3 to 7 years of solid experience as an IP Paralegal, IP Operations Specialist, or Legal Administrator (experience within an automotive/tech company or a top-tier IP law firm is highly preferred).
Must Have Competencies
Comprehensive execution of Indian IP filing processes, legal documentation workflows, and critical statutory timelines across Patents, Trademarks, and Designs.
Advanced utilization of MS Excel for budget forecasting, complex data modeling, and high-level MIS reporting.
Mastery of professional IP management software and advanced legal docketing tools.
Strategic corporate financial tracking, expenditure monitoring, procurement workflows, and quarterly budget provisioning.
