Tasks & Responsibilities
Operate PVD coating machines and associated equipment as per approved process parameters and work instructions.
Perform loading and unloading of cutting tools, fixtures, and coating batches while ensuring proper handling and product protection.
Prepare tools for coating operations through cleaning, fixture mounting, masking, and batch preparation activities.
Monitor coating process parameters including vacuum levels, temperature, pressure, gas flow, and cycle times to ensure process compliance.
Conduct pre-coating and post-coating inspections to verify coating quality and adherence to specifications.
Maintain accurate production records, coating logs, inspection reports, and batch traceability documentation.
Perform routine machine cleaning, chamber cleaning, fixture maintenance, and Autonomous Maintenance (AM) activities as per TPM requirements.
Report coating defects, equipment abnormalities, process deviations, or safety concerns to the supervisor and support corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and 5S standards while supporting productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
Profile & Requirements
ITI in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Mechanical Trades, or equivalent qualification.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
1-3 years of experience in coating operations, vacuum technology, heat treatment, or precision manufacturing environments.
Basic knowledge of PVD coating processes used in cutting tools manufacturing.
Understanding of vacuum systems, coating equipment, fixtures, and batch processing operations.
Ability to read and understand work instructions, process sheets, inspection requirements, and production documentation.
