About Cerebre

cerebre is on a mission to build the data foundation of the physical world. We offer a live intelligence map of a facilities – built from schematics to power AI. Often called the “brain” of the digital twin, cerebre helps engineers, data scientists, and business teams understand data within the context of the plant.

We collaborate with the world’s largest companies and most innovative partners who are transforming the industrial sector.

cerebre is a global team of engineers, scientists, innovators, and explorers united by a mission to help the world’s largest manufacturing facilities build and use intelligence.

Our development team is made up of world-class engineers who design and deliver novel solutions. This is an opportunity to join a market-leading team that is changing how the industrial world works.

If you love building and creating value in the “white space,” if you thrive with the freedom and flexibility to think outside the box, if you are passionate about working with critical thinkers who challenge the status quo, and if you aspire to work in a fast-paced environment – we would love to meet you!

We believe flexibility drives creativity and that our team should live and work where we can be our best selves. We’re 100% remote and offer a competitive time-off package to ensure time for rest and recharge.

About The Role

We are seeking a strong C#/.NET engineer to help build and scale high-performance, graphics-intensive desktop applications. You’ll work on complex, real-world systems that require a solid understanding of 2D rendering and the ability to debug visual and graphical issues in production environments.

This role is hands-on and impact driven. You’ll navigate large, evolving codebases, work with messy real-world data, and make pragmatic decisions about how to solve problems quickly and effectively. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers to improve system performance, reliability, and developer experience, while contributing clear technical notes and solutions along the way.

If you enjoy digging into complex systems, solving hard visual/geometry problems, and shipping practical improvements, you’ll thrive here.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and reproduce P&ID rendering issues in Studio Pro.
  • Compare Studio Pro output with reference CAD applications.
  • Identify whether issues come from source files, missing dependencies, rendering defects, parsing/import behavior, or algorithm limitations.
  • Fix contained C#/.NET desktop rendering issues directly.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior developers with clear technical evidence.
  • Document reproduction steps, logs, screenshots, suspected root cause, and business impact.
  • Maintain known-issue documentation and regression cases.
  • Work with QA, solvers, product, and senior engineers to unblock diagram-solving work.

Required Skills

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong C# / .NET experience.
  • Experience building or maintaining Windows desktop applications.
  • Strong understanding of 2D graphics concepts, such as:
    • coordinate systems,
    • transforms,
    • scaling and zooming,
    • hit testing,
    • layers,
    • drawing primitives,
    • paths/lines/polylines,
    • bounding boxes,
    • rendering performance.
  • Practical experience debugging visual or graphical applications.
  • Ability to read and understand unfamiliar codebases.
  • Strong debugging skills using Rider or similar tools.
  • Comfort working with real-world messy data, not only clean test cases.
  • Ability to write clear technical notes for other engineers.
  • Good judgment about when to fix an issue directly and when to escalate.

Relevant Technical Background

  • WPF, WinForms, Avalonia, SkiaSharp, Direct2D, GDI+, or similar 2D rendering technologies.
  • Desktop application state management.
  • File parsing, import/export workflows, or document-based applications.
  • Geometry-heavy application logic.
  • CAD, DXF, SVG, PDF, P&ID, engineering drawings or diagramming tools.
  • REST APIs and cloud-connected desktop applications.
  • Logging, diagnostics, crash analysis, and production bug investigation.
  • Automated regression tests for visual or geometry-based systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Engineering diagrams, especially P&IDs.
  • Industrial, energy, process engineering, or plant data workflows.
  • Graph data models.
  • Azure services.
  • Azure Service Bus or event-driven workflows.
  • Computational geometry.
  • Image/vector processing.
  • Algorithm tuning or rule-based extraction systems.
  • QA automation for desktop applications
