WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its product development engineering team.

The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

In this role you will contribute directly in the continuous improvement of Wet plating process equipment on the Sabre and Sabre 3D products. Your work will support critical customer engagements, shaping mechanical designs that meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability goals.

What You’ll Do

• Design and Development of Mechanical components and sub-systems
• Analyze design through simulations and hand calculations
• Validate design by making prototypes and performing testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional Teams for review, approval and release
• Participate actively in Idea generation forums and contribute to innovative solutions
• Understand Lam products, Business processes and Standards
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.
• This is a graduate eligible role.
  
  

Mandatory Qualifications

• Application of Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Heat and Mass Transfer and Fluid flow principles to solve engineering problems
• Knowledge of various materials and their applications
• Knowledge of machining, welding, molding, sheet-metal fabrication & casting processes
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others.
• Hands-on projects that include prototyping and assembly
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as Ansys, Nastran, Creo Simulate etc.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
