General Information

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our e-mobility team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of Mechanical/High voltage components and systems for electric vehicles, focusing on performance, safety, and manufacturability.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical and high-voltage components and assemblies for EV power electronics, HV boxes, inverters, powertrains, and battery sub-systems using CAD software. Proficiency in Creo is mandatory, knowledge of CATIA will be an added advantage
  • Specific product knowledge on Inverter, OBC, DCDC
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and vibration analysis using FEA/CAE tools to optimize designs for performance, durability, and weight.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs and manufacturability.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) in accordance with industry standards (e.g.,ASME Y14.5).
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit and function of assemblies.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designed components, analyzing test data to identify and implement design improvements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and material selection processes to optimize design solutions for cost, weight, and performance.
  • Implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles in all designs.
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and DVP (Design Validation Plan) activities.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or e-mobility industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo, CATIA) and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and material science.
  • Experience with FEA/CAE tools for simulation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, stamping, injection molding, additive manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
