Responsibilities

KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Canada Tax for Cross Border US CT team with subject matter expertise in US Corporate Tax Compliance and Tax Accounting Industry. Working as a Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include:

•Help KPMG corporate or partnership clients meet their state and federal tax obligations. This includes examining financial records - such as income statements and expenditure documentation - to determine clients refunds or the amount of taxes owed, collaborating with colleagues to prepare tax returns, and filing appropriate paperwork, all while providing excellent customer service.

•Managing a team of 15 professionals under them. Taking care of the workflow management, their trainings, and mentoring.

•Coordinating with Onshore Engagement teams in terms of workflow management and maintain the required utilization for the team

•Understands key business accounting concepts such as depreciation, provisions and has a fair understanding of financial statements. Be an expert in Partnership/ Corporation concepts.

•Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experiences

•Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal clients

•Manage teams of tax professionals working on client projects

•Effectively manage the Business Unit to deliver to the expectations of the BU Partner In charge.

•Advise onshore teams and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice

•Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

•Team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice.

Qualifications

Educational qualifications

•Master’s degree from an accredited college / university; CPA, (Please note that any candidate hired by KPMG into this position that doesn’t currently possess one of the credentials/designations will be required to secure one within one year from the commencement of employment)

Work Experience

•A minimum of 8 to 10 years of corporate tax experience in an accounting firm.

Mandatory technical & functional skills

•Enrolled Agent or, Pursuing Enrolled Agent Certification.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e., Excel).

•Understanding of Corporate and Partnership taxes.

•Broad exposure to income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations.
