Your future duties and responsibilities

Job Title: Mainframe Developer-Software Engineer

Position: Senior Software Engineer

7:00 AM – 4:00 PM IST

1:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST

Weekly rotational shifts

Main location: Bangalore/ Chennai

Work Type: Hybrid (3 Days work from office)

Your future duties and responsibilities

Provide 24x7 production support for mainframe applications

Monitor batch jobs and online transactions using CA7, Control-M, and monitoring tools

Analyze and resolve production incidents, abends, and system failures

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes

Handle job failures, DB2, IMS, VSAM, and file-related issues

Coordinate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution

Support production deployments, releases, and change management activities

Ensure SLA adherence and compliance standards are maintained

Create and maintain production support and operational documentation

Participate in shift rotations and on-call/weekend support activities

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

Must Have Skills

5–8 years of experience in Mainframe Production Support

Strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies

Hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM

Experience with job scheduling tools such as CA7 / Control-M

Strong understanding of batch and online processing

Experience in incident management, problem resolution, and RCA

Exposure to ITIL-based support environments

Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Willingness to work in rotational shifts and weekend supportGood to Have Skills

Exposure to performance tuning and optimization

Knowledge of Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes

Banking or financial services domain experience

Experience with automation tools or scripting

Exposure to IMS and production monitoring utilities

Weekly rotational shifts

Alternate weekend support (approximately 3–4 hours)
