Pushing the boundaries of innovation every day, engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Role Overview
Own end-to-end design & analysis of lube, pressurization, and vent (LPV) component design (for example: sumps, scavenge/supply features, vent lines, seal interfaces) from concept through detailed design and engineering validation.
Interpret schematics, perform guided pressure-drop/thermal calculations, and run existing models with supervision
Model and assess oil and air system performance (flows, pressures, scavenge capability, vent capacity etc) across the operating envelope
Flow down engine/system requirements into component requirements; define key characteristics (flow, pressure, temperature, sealing, life/durability)
Support component and system tests (rig, engine, acceptance). Define instrumentation needs, review data, troubleshoot anomalies, and close requirements
Partner with design, bearings/seals, controls, gearbox, thermal, durability, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure solutions are implementable and verifiable.
Identify opportunities to improve robustness of LPV designs and processes; capture lessons learned and standard work
