Lead Automation Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing across enterprise applications.
• Lead automation engineering efforts across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with engineering standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipeline integrations to enable continuous testing and deployment across development teams.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA analysts, product managers, and DevOps teams to embed automation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to expand automation coverage and champion best practices across the engineering organization.
• Develop and maintain reusable automation libraries, scripts, and utilities using Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Monitor automated test results, analyze failures, and drive resolution of defects and pipeline issues.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers on automation tools, frameworks, and practices.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps, tooling evaluations, and strategic planning for the automation practice.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
• 8 or more years of experience in automation engineering with progressive responsibility.
• 4 or more years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• 4 or more years of experience in scripting and automation development using Python or Java.
• 3 or more years of experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• 3 or more years of experience with API test automation using REST-based frameworks.
• 2 or more years of experience with version control systems using Git or Bitbucket.
• 2 or more years of experience working in Agile development environments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• 2 or more years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 2 or more years of experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• 2 or more years of experience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
