Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, administer, and optimize enterprise-level Microsoft Exchange (On-Prem & Online) and Office 365 environments, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
- Act as a Tier-3 escalation point for critical messaging issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across hybrid infrastructures.
- Design and implement migration strategies for Exchange Online and hybrid deployments, ensuring seamless integration with Active Directory and other enterprise systems.
- Monitor and analyse system performance, proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing robust solutions to maintain optimal service delivery.
- Develop and enforce best practices, governance policies, and security standards for messaging platforms.
- Automate administrative tasks using advanced PowerShell scripting and other automation frameworks to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate emerging technologies, recommend improvements, and drive modernization initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support teams.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise messaging platforms, including Microsoft Exchange (On-Prem & Online), Office 365, and hybrid environments.
- Proven expertise in Active Directory, DNS, SMTP, POP/IMAP protocols, Email Gateways and related networking fundamentals.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and remediation.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale migrations, tenant management, and license optimization.
- Deep understanding of Office 365 capabilities, service descriptions, and security/compliance features.
- Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and integration with messaging platforms.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools for log analysis and performance optimization.
- Certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, ITIL Foundation.
