Lab Manager (GM) -Power Electronics Lab

Vacancy: At L&T EPS Industrial R and D- Bengaluru

Experience: 10+ Years of experience in Large Hardware lab/ Electronic Equipment manufacturing Test facility, in creation and management of the same, a good understanding of test equipment specifications and the connect with the global and local equipment manufactures representatives is mandatory requirement. A sound knowledge of creating automated test solution based on Lab View software is preferable. The candidate should have good communication and convincing skills. Should have a demonstrated record of working with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.

Exposure: It is preferable that the person has been exposed in a world class power conversion equipment R and D lab or such products manufacturing test and repair facility from the inception stage especially in a large MNC organization.

Position Responsibilities

• The incumbent plays a key role to create a world class R and D infrastructure and maintenance of the same by closely working with technical consultants, electrical contractors and the technical leaders of the R and D organization.
• He/she shall work closely with the stakeholders of the lab and the equipment manufacturers to identify the suitable equipment/solution to meet the requirement.
• Procurement, installation, and commissioning of the equipment
• Creation of the Lab layout considering all the safety requirement and process flow
• Responsible for Lab view-based test automation for all repetitive tests
• Responsible for R and D components procurement and organize the components /subsystems and equipment storage
• Responsible for EMI lab and work with external regulatory labs for various types of regulatory approvals for the products developed in R and D
• Creation of a comprehensive components data base for R and D and later manufacturing use.
• Maintenance and calibration of Equipment
• Manage the assembly, wiring and rework facility and team
• Responsible for product qualification tests and the test engineers
• When new manufacturing facility comes up, he will be responsible for creation of manufacturing layout, procurement of manufacturing, on line and end of line test equipment and fixtures such as ICT,PFT,FTE and Heat soak test facility
• Create and take the responsibility of Product repair centre when required
  
  

• BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 Years of overall lab infra build and management in a large organization
  
  

• Demonstrated experience in progressively challenging and responsible roles
• Excellent focus on execution, should ensure responsiveness to customers, team and management
• Has inflammable energy and enthusiasm
• Excellent team player capable of working closely with all the stake holders of the projects.
