General Description Of Role
This role will provide the candidate an opportunity to deliver enterprise-scale data workloads following a data lakehouse architecture on a modern cloud-based data stack for our new Commercial Risk Solutions Ecosystem. These data workloads represent strategic feeds to support our BI/Analytics solutions that are essential to the value proposition of our ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities
Cross-functional Team: Work within a cross-functional Agile team alongside Product Owner, Data Architect and Data Analysts to deliver on release goals for a global program
Data Workload Design: Design scalable and efficient data workloads architectures that integrate our transactional systems with a new lakehouse data model.
Data Integration: Develop, test and maintain data pipelines (ETL) for integrating diverse data sources into a unified format embedding best practices and standards.
Data Management: Manage and optimize data to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
Data Quality Management: Implement automated data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the migration process.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, ensuring knowledge transfer, observability and supportability.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize data performance to meet defined service-level agreements.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner, collaborating with relevant teams.
Skills/competencies Required
College degree in STEM-related discipline, applicable certification or equivalent experience.
Advanced Technical Skills:
Experience in design and development of an Enterprise CI/CD pipelines, workflow orchestration, and operational monitoring for production ready data platforms.
Experienced in using the DAB (Databricks Asset Bundles) framework to set up and deploy Databricks projects, such as notebooks, jobs, pipelines, ML models, etc, in a consistent, automated, and version-controlled way using YAML configuration files.
Highly skilled in Databricks, SQL, Python, PySpark, data visualization tools, and in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs
Experienced in designing and managing complete ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory, including integration of data from various source systems.
Database Knowledge: Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, MSSQLServer, MySQL, etc).
Hands on experience with Agile technical practices, source versioning and Agile project management tools (Azure Repos, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, other)
Nice to Have:
Develop and manage data integration workflows between, platforms using tools like Workato that are efficient, scalable, and performant.
Interest in or exposure to AI/LLM services and related API, with willingness to work on AI-related Integrations and POCs
Proactive, curious mindset and desire to learn new tech stacks in a fast-changing environment.
Professional development experience with .NET core, C# and Web API.
You have the ambition to grow to a solution or data architect position and learn on implementing effective governance strategies, with a particular emphasis on Azure cloud solutions, Databricks to drive digital transformation.
Agile planning skills – Kanban and Scrum release/sprint planning.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to solve complex data engineering challenges and optimize system performance.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Knowledge on data management principles, data profiling and quality management, compliance standards
Deep understanding of business context of the data, detail oriented, excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
