Job Role Description

Member of an Audit work group responsible for executing individual audit engagements to independently evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across business activities units, verify compliance with regulatory requirements, and conduct external audits to assess adherence to contractual obligations - all in alignment with the Corporation’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Responsibilities include contributing to all phases of the audit process, ensuring higher-risk areas are accurately identified, appropriately assessed, and effectively mitigated in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements. The role also involves responding to ad hoc management requests, actively supporting transformation and strategic initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the audit function. Audit Advisors are additionally expected to assume Lead Auditor responsibilities as required.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Support the annual audit planning process by assessing auditable entities, defining audit scope and prioritizing high risk areas
• Perform Internal Audits in accordance with audit standards and conduct Special Assurance reviews to confirm that lines of defense operate effectively and that risk identification and safeguard practices are appropriate and sufficient
• Execute SOX audits to provide assurance to management that financial statements are free from material misstatement and that the organization meets SEC regulatory requirements
• Conduct audits of third-party vendors and partners, providing ExxonMobil Management with insights needed to ensure contractual compliance and influence joint venture partners
• Build and maintain client relationships while managing tension points with professionalism, sound judgement and effective communication
• Lead audit teams as required, providing direction, coaching and support to ensure high quality audit execution
• Actively participate in transformation and strategic activities that advance audit practices, knowledge sharing and functional excellence
• Champion a digital strategy and drive the use of digital tools and data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness, efficiency and insight generation
