The Internal Audit Department reports to the Audit Committee of Akamais Board of Directors. The Departments charter is to systematically evaluate and recommend improvements for the effectiveness of risk management, controls, operational processes, and governance.

The Internal Auditor II conducts risk-based audits across strategic, operational, financial, and compliance areas. This role involves performing testing, creating detailed workpapers, and identifying control gaps or process improvement opportunities to enhance governance practices.

As an Internal Auditor II, you will be responsible for:

• Executing risk-based business process audits and transactional analysis to identify anomalies, trends, exceptions, or control weaknesses through sampling methodologies.
• Preparing clear, well-supported, high-quality workpaper deliverables encompassing scope, testing conducted, observations documented, and conclusions finalized.
• Identifying control gaps, process deficiencies, and possible policy violations effectively while ensuring thorough analysis and compliance.
• Partnering with process owners to identify root causes while supporting the creation of effective corrective action plans.
• Tracking and monitoring process improvement status while validating closure of corrective actions to ensure effectiveness and completion.
• Ensuring work aligns with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) established by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
  
  

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Possess expertise in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields, with 24 of relevant experience in auditing or consulting.
• Demonstrate expertise in internal controls, risk management frameworks, and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Show expertise in analyzing, documenting, and assessing business processes while collaborating effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Obtain certifications like CIA, CPA, CA, or CFE, or actively work toward achieving them.
