Role Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Developer (8 – 10 years of experience) to join our Automation team. You will design, build, and maintain robust, code driven infrastructure solutions that accelerate delivery of Infra services services while ensuring high availability, security, and compliance. The role sits at the intersection of software development and systems engineering, leveraging Python, modern front end frameworks (Angular, React), and configuration automation (Ansible) on both Linux and Windows platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Maintain Automation Code – Design reusable Python libraries, Ansible playbooks, and CI/CD pipelines to provision, configure, and de commission infrastructure components across on premise data centres and cloud environments.
- Build User Facing Automation Portals – Create responsive web interfaces using Angular and/or React that enable internal teams to request and monitor infrastructure services securely.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Translate architecture designs into version controlled IaC artifacts (Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent) and integrate them into our Git based delivery workflow.
- Lifecycle Management – Automate patching, drift detection, backup, and disaster recovery processes for Linux and Windows servers, ensuring alignment with BNP Paribas security standards.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer – Partner with architecture, security, operations, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define acceptance criteria, and provide technical mentorship to junior developers and DevOps engineers.
- Performance & Reliability Engineering – Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk) for automated workloads; analyse metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Compliance & Governance – Embed regulatory controls (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, EBA GL 11) into automation scripts and maintain auditable artefacts for internal and external audits.
- Incident Response Support – Contribute to on call rotation, troubleshoot automation failures, and develop rapid remediation playbooks.
Minimum Requirement
Professional Experience
8 – 10 years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or automation development, preferably within a financial services or.
Programming
Advanced proficiency in Python (including asyncio, REST client/server, data serialization).
Front End
Strong hands on experience building single page applications with Angular (v8 v15) and/or React (hooks, Redux/Context API).
Configuration Management
Expert level knowledge of Ansible (playbooks, roles, collections, dynamic inventories) and familiarity with other IaC tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet).
Operating Systems
Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE) and Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016/2019) administration and scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
CI/CD & Source Control
Proven experience with Git (GitHub/Bitbucket/GitLab), pipeline tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI), and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes – a plus).
Automation APIs
Comfortable consuming and exposing RESTful/GraphQL APIs; understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
Security Fundamentals
Knowledge of secret management (Vault), RBAC, and secure coding practices.
Networking Basics
TCP/IP, VLANs, firewall concepts, VPN, and basic routing.
Documentation
Ability to write clear technical documentation (architecture diagrams, run books, API specs).

Education & Certifications
- Bachelors (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications (a plus, not mandatory): Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC). Microsoft Certified: Windows Server. Ansible Automation Certified Engineer. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Cloud Native Compute Foundation (CNCF) credentials.
