The Role: Vulnerability Management
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative security professional to support the vulnerability management program. This role will focus primarily on creating, assigning, tracking, and driving remediation tickets through closure, ensuring vulnerability findings are routed to the correct owners and remediated within defined service level expectations. The successful candidate will partner closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, asset management, and security stakeholders to reduce risk across the enterprise.
The role will also assist with improving the accuracy and completeness of asset inventory data used to support vulnerability remediation workflows. This includes validating ownership information, identifying gaps in asset metadata, following up on orphaned or misrouted assets, and helping ensure vulnerability tickets are actionable, accurate, and assigned to the appropriate remediation teams.
- Create, review, assign, and track vulnerability remediation tickets in enterprise workflow systems.
- Monitor ticket progress, follow up with owners, and escalate overdue or blocked remediation activities as needed.
- Partner with technical teams to clarify vulnerability findings, remediation expectations, due dates, and required evidence.
- Assist with validating asset ownership, assignment groups, business context, and other inventory attributes that support accurate ticket routing.
- Identify and document gaps in asset inventory data, ownership records, or remediation workflows and coordinate with appropriate teams to resolve them.
- Support reporting on vulnerability backlog, aging, SLA adherence, remediation status, and recurring process issues.
- Help maintain consistent documentation, process guidance, and operational procedures for vulnerability management activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in information security, vulnerability management, IT operations, infrastructure support, service management, or a related technology function.
- Working knowledge of vulnerability remediation concepts, including patching, mitigation, risk acceptance, remediation timelines, and ticket-based workflows.
- Experience creating, updating, tracking, or managing tickets in an enterprise workflow or service management platform.
- Ability to follow up with technical and non-technical stakeholders to obtain updates, clarify ownership, and drive work to completion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data quality issues, missing ownership information, duplicate records, or incomplete remediation details.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize issues, status, blockers, and next steps clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Basic understanding of enterprise asset inventory, configuration management, or ownership data used to support operational workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting an enterprise vulnerability management, cyber asset management, security operations, or risk management program.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability or exposure management platforms.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or other ticketing and workflow management platforms.
- Familiarity with asset inventory, CMDB, assignment group, application ownership, cloud asset, or infrastructure ownership processes.
- Understanding of vulnerability severity, CVSS, exploitability, internet exposure, remediation prioritization, and SLA-driven remediation practices.
- Experience preparing operational metrics, dashboards, reports, or status updates related to remediation progress, backlog, aging, or SLA compliance.
- Ability to work with application, infrastructure, cloud, compliance, and security teams to resolve ownership or remediation blockers.
- Relevant security, technology, or service management certifications such as Security+, CySA+, ITIL, SSCP, CISSP, or equivalent practical experience.
