Indirect Tax Associate

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of U.S. Indirect Tax Returns: Work closely with external partners to gather relevant and timely data for all U.S. sales and use tax returns.
• Exemption Certificates: Proactively maintain exemption certificate collection, validation, and maintenance of documentation to support tax-exempt transactions.
• Sales and Use Tax Controversy: Provide relevant data and information to assist in the resolution of Sales and Use Tax controversies, including responding to sales tax notices and inquiries.
• Property Tax Filings: Assist in the preparation and filing of Property Tax returns, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to relevant deadlines.
• Business Licenses: Work closely with external partners to gather data for the preparation and filing of local business licenses.
• Gross Receipts Taxes: Calculate and provide accurate Gross Receipts Tax data, supporting compliance and reporting requirements for various U.S. state jurisdictions.
• Financial Reconciliation: Prepare and reconcile trial balances accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting related to tax liabilities.
  
  

Experience Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in tax compliance, accounting, or a related finance role.
• Exposure to Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, or related tax areas preferred.
• Experience working with external partners or tax authorities is a plus.
  
  

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, EA, or tax-related coursework) are a plus but not required at the associate level.
