Opportunity

The External Communications Leader is responsible for setting the vision and leading the execution of EY GDS’s external communications strategy. This role oversees all external communications functions, ensuring alignment with business priorities and driving impactful, consistent messaging that enhances EY GDS’s brand, reputation and market presence globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive external communications strategy, integrating PR, thought leadership, social media, digital marketing, industry relations, awards, events and employee advocacy to support the organizations’ business goals.
• Deep understanding and strong portfolio in B2B client marketing, media relations, digital marketing, thought leadership, employer branding, crisis management and executive communications.
• Manage and empower diverse teams, fostering collaboration across global hubs and service lines to deliver localized and global campaigns.
• Partner with EY global teams BMC teams and GDS BMC hubs and Centers of Excellence to ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment and effective campaign activation.
• Guide the creation and dissemination of PR and thought leadership content and executive positioning to strengthen leadership visibility and market trust.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy and continuously improve communication impact.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and operational excellence across all external communications activities, including team, budget and vendor management.
• Deliver regular performance insights and reports to senior leadership, demonstrating value andpt guiding decision-making.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• 12+ years of extensive leadership experience in external communications within complex, global organizations.
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications strategies that drive business growth and brand reputation.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and influencing skills.
• Deep understanding of media relations, thought leadership, and executive communications.
• Proved portfolio of successful employer branding programs and campaign.
• Advance knowledge of digital marketing channels, tools and techniques including solid hands-on experience.
• Ability to translate complex BMC analytics data into clear, actionable strategic recommendations. Solid understanding of marketing automation and AI, CRM platforms and digital analytics ecosystems.
• Experience in managing international budgets, vendors and global communications compliance standards.
• Strong team leadership and senior stakeholders management skills in a complex, matrixed, global organization.
• Master in Marketing or related field, MBA preferred.
