Job Overview

The Financial Systems (FS) team in the FinTech business unit provides technical expertise to the finance department and is responsible for supporting and innovating SAP ERP/S4HANA, SAP BI, Native HANA solutions, and many other connected external systems. We want to change the way people work with enterprise systems, by building an application platform that supports simplification of business processes and empowers the finance community with better integrations and financial insights.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager - QA to join our team and help us to move the Fintech platform at Booking to the next level. Your role is to enable your team and help each team member to achieve their goals. You get things done via influence, not authority. You unlock the creativity of your team and inspire them to build the best for our customers. You take full responsibility for your area.

The role of Engineering Manager - QA for the Quality & Automation Team in Fintech is to primarily lead, coach, and develop test automation strategies, ensuring the development of both are in line with organizational objectives and direction. They will be required to advise all aspects of the test engineering function within the direct reporting line and provide technical guidance and recommendations to ensure modern testing automation practices are embedded into their teams’ ways of working. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that talent is identified and developed, any skills gaps are identified in good time to ensure the success of the organization’s objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage Automation team to Build E2E Automation test strategy to reduce regression execution timeline and implement Shift left approach to build early automation approach in SIT phases.
• Have at least 3+ years of experience in managing high-performant testing teams and have a strong experience in building and managing high-velocity teams.
• Resolve key technical challenges in automation and Build custom features in TOSCA automation and Integrated with Livecompare.
• Experience in building robust End to End test automation solutions which business and technical teams can execute whenever required.
• Responsible for the addition of new capabilities and features in the automation framework which is used by the entire QA team for test automation. You are also responsible for managing and maintaining test coverage through periodic reports to engineering and stakeholders.
• Empower efficient product delivery via rigorous component testing and early integration advocacy
• Manage Performance Testing team to make sure each project meets performance metrics before going to production.
• Systematically resolve issues, apply "5 whys"
• Seamlessly integrate testing via active participation in planning and design, mentor integration.
• Promote testing best practices, empower ownership, guide adoption, and offer guidance to juniors.
• Lead collaborative test automation enhancements, highlight benefits.
• Elevate testing quality with valuable automated tests, mentor on creation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, guide juniors in pursuing enhancements.
• Devise pertinent enhancements, guide juniors in implementation.
• Foster collaborative solutions through flexibility, clarity, active listening, and follow-ups.
  
  
  

• Expertise in one or more test frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, Selenium, Nightwatch, Postman, JMeter, TestComplete etc.
• Working knowledge and strong exposure to codeless / script-less automation frameworks such as TOSCA
• At least 10 years of experience in high technological environment in a similar role
• Ability to work with vendors (external team)
• Ability to choose the right test framework in accordance with the needs of the project balancing against trade-offs.
• Clear understanding of various software testing methodologies and experience in SIT, UAT coordination etc. : unit, integration, smoke, performance, stress, load, regression, acceptance, usability, security etc.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring and training other developers on software quality topics.
• Exceptional problem solving / analytical thinking and skills along with Teamwork and collaboration
  
  
  

• Expertise in the Finance domain like SAP Finance or Payment domain knowledge is a huge plus.
• Hands-on experience working with SAP enterprise systems -Finance area (preferably S4/Hana) will be a plus.
• Experience in any open source tool like Selenium, playwright tools experience
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java-based automation frameworks
• Ability to drive automation-first, shift-left quality strategy
• Highly skilled in best practice for testing microservices and domain based systems.
• Experience developing fully automated CI/CD pipeline, working with CI & source control tools & using Jenkins, GitHub, Gitlab, Octopus, TFS/other.
• Passionate about Continuous Improvement, Innovation, New technologies.
• Solid understanding of SOA/Microservices and web architecture and experience around distributed systems.
