About The Team

The team owns Reimbursements which is a major revenue driver for Spend Management. This product area is actively used by every customer on Spend Management. The team is in a unique position to drive company ARR, push the product to be loved by all customers, and to build with a platform in mind.

About The Role

You would be joining the Spend Management team which plays a pivotal role in redefining the future of corporate spending as we scale from millions to billions of dollars in transactions per month. Customers love that we have built an all-in-one platform for corporate cards, expense management, accounting automation, and more. We simplify the financial admins lives through the combination of the entire Rippling product suite. We launched Spend Management one year ago and have seen tremendous customer adoption and excitement.

As an Engineering Manager for Expense Management, youll build out a winning team that grows our product offerings that customers love and ensure high availability, scalability, and low latency. You will directly impact customers, drive improvements in cross-team initiatives, and uphold rigorous technical standards within your team. Ever since the inception of Spend Management, weve been dedicated to delivering an exceptional product experience while reducing our operational overhead.

What You Will Do

• Lead a team of passionate software engineers that prides itself on ownership and impact
• Drive on-time, high quality product delivery. Drive adoption of engineering best practices
• Help the organization scale and grow with the business - attract and grow the best talent!
• Empower engineers to take ownership of projects, guiding them from initial product requirements through to launch, benefiting all Spend Management customers.
• Maintain a relentless commitment to elevating engineering standards within both the team and the organization as a whole.
• Provide mentorship and opportunities for your team of engineers, nurturing their professional growth and success.
• Identify inefficiencies within the team and drive process and system enhancements that will support scaling the team.
  
  

• Demonstrate a track record of 8+ years of professional experience utilizing a modern backend programming language (i.e. Python, Java, Kotlin, C++) for APIs, batch jobs, etc. Experience with a frontend language/framework (i.e. React, Ruby/Rails) would be a plus.
• Possess 1+ years of professional experience leading a team of engineers.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, providing you with a solid foundation to help mentor engineers to tackle complex technical problems and drive innovation.
• Previous experience managing the complete project lifecycle, transforming intricate ideas into successful launches.
• Demonstrate a keen product sense that advocates for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Outstanding capacity to convey intricate technical concepts clearly and precisely, both in written and verbal communication, while collaborating effectively across diverse functional teams.
• Experience with React is a plus but not required
