The Mixing Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining mixing equipment used in electrode slurry preparation. The role ensures consistency in slurry quality, adherence to process parameters, and safe operation of equipment. Experience in dry room environments is preferred but not mandatory.
Key Responsibility Areas
Machine Operation
Operate planetary, double planetary, high-shear, and vacuum mixers as per defined SOPs
Set and control machine parameters such as speed, mixing time, temperature, and vacuum levels
Accurately handle and load powders, binders, and solvents as per batch requirements
Monitor machine performance, identify deviations, and respond to alarms or process abnormalities
Batch Preparation
Prepare electrode slurry batches strictly as per defined recipes and process instructions
Perform visual inspection to ensure uniformity and proper dispersion
Safely transfer prepared slurry to the coating process/stage while maintaining quality standards
Equipment Cleaning & Maintenance
Clean mixing vessels, blades, and lids thoroughly after each batch to avoid contamination
Perform pre-start checks to ensure equipment readiness
Report any equipment malfunction or abnormalities immediately to the supervisor or maintenance team
Safety & Dry Room Compliance
Follow all powder handling and solvent safety protocols
Adhere to dry room and gowning procedures (where applicable)
Maintain high standards of 5S and workplace housekeeping
Knowledge Generic
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline
Relevant technical certification in manufacturing or process operations is an added advantage
Basic understanding of mixing processes, slurry preparation, and batch manufacturing
Familiarity with mixing equipment such as planetary mixers, high-shear mixers, and vacuum mixers
Knowledge of process parameters like viscosity, temperature, and mixing time
Awareness of material handling for powders, binders, and solvents
Basic understanding of SOPs, GMP, and quality standards
Exposure to dry room operations is preferred
Understanding of safety protocols related to chemicals, solvents, and equipment handling
Ability to read and follow process instructions, batch sheets, and work orders
