Job Description

Schaeffler is a dynamic global technology company and its success has been a result of its entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership. Does that sound interesting to you? As a partner to all of the major automobile manufacturers, as well as key players in the aerospace and industrial sectors, we offer you many development opportunities.

General Information

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented professional to support the setup, operation, and improvement of an e-motor dynamometer test bench for e-mobility applications. The role will focus on executing system and component tests, managing measurement equipment, and ensuring accurate test results for development and validation activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Run assigned dyno tests (endurance/robustness/functional tests as applicable), ensure stable operation, follow defined procedures/standards, support repetitive execution and shift operation.
  • Prepare the test environment for E‑motor dyno work: instrumentation hookup support, sensor/DAQ readiness checks, wiring/fixture changes, bench configuration adjustments to match test requests.
  • Perform/coordinate bench and measurement calibration activities using defined tools/processes; ensure calibration status and measurement integrity before and during testing.
  • Implement approved changes to test bench automation and test bench control software (scripts/configs/parameterization), to improve repeatability and reduce downtime, in coordination with V&V/controls stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot recurring test bench issues (hardware, sensors, basic electrical/electronic test issues, control/automation-related faults); escalate structured problem statements when needed; support stable long runs.
  • Ensure correct data logging; perform basic data preparation/packaging for engineers (not deep analysis unless assigned).
  • Coordinate with internal project, test, and development teams to ensure smooth execution of testing activities.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Proven dyno bench operation experience with hands-on confidence in test environment setup, teardown, and modification — able to work independently at the bench with precision.
  • Basic-to-intermediate experience with bench automation and control platforms such as AVL PUMA or equivalent, with a clear willingness and ability to grow toward advanced use.
  • Familiar with calibration routines, sensor setup, and measurement readiness checks; understands the need for verified, traceable measurements before and during test runs.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical/electronic testing principles and mechanical systems as applied to test bench environments, including basic fault identification across instrumentation and sensors.
  • Diagnoses bench hardware, software, and instrumentation issues using a disciplined, step-by-step approach.
  • Produces accurate, consistent documentation as routine — shift handover notes, run logs, issue reports, and configuration records — ensuring traceability across teams and shifts.
  • Awareness of high-voltage safety protocols and adheres strictly to lab and dyno safety protocols, including high-voltage and high-speed safety standards relevant to electric motor test environments.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a strong teamwork mindset

Your Qualifications

  • Diploma / Bachelor in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Automotive (or equivalent hands-on test bench experience).
  • :3 years experience operating dyno or similar lab test benches (powertrain, e‑drive, motors, inverter test environments).
  • Willingness for shift operation and strict safety compliance.
