The role requires hands-on experience with tools such as TESSY, Google Test (GTest), Polyspace, and MISRA compliance verification, along with a fundamental understanding of AUTOSAR architecture, Model-Based Development (MBD), HIL testing concepts, and automotive software development processes. The engineer is expected to demonstrate ownership, proactive problem-solving, and effective stakeholder communication while ensuring adherence to quality standards and delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with TESSY, Google Test (GTest), Polyspace, and SonarQube tools for software verification, static analysis, and code quality assessment.
• Perform unit testing of embedded software components and verify functional correctness against software requirements. 
• Conduct static code analysis using Polyspace and support closure of identified violations. 
• Analyze and ensure compliance with MISRA C/C++ guidelines and project-specific coding standards. 
• Generate and maintain unit test reports, coverage reports, and traceability documentation. 
• Execute requirement-based verification and ensure bidirectional traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and test artifacts. 
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve software robustness and maintainability. 
• Collaborate with software architects, developers, integrators, and validation teams for issue resolution. 
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum activities and provide regular status updates. 
• Support release readiness activities and quality gate reviews. 
• Ensure compliance with organizational processes, ASPICE requirements, and quality management systems. 
• Maintain all verification artifacts in accordance with project and customer expectations.
• Take ownership of communication regarding test status, blockers, and release readiness.
• Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and standardization activities.

Qualifications

Required Technical Skills

Unit Testing & Verification

• Hands-on experience with TESSY for unit testing of embedded software.

• Experience using Google Test (GTest) framework for unit and component-level testing.

• Strong understanding of software verification techniques and defect prevention methodologies.

• Knowledge of statement, branch, decision, and MC/DC coverage concepts.

Static Analysis & Coding Standards

• Hands-on experience with Polyspace static analysis tools.

• Good understanding of MISRA C/C++ guidelines and coding standard compliance.

• Experience in analyzing and resolving static analysis findings and code quality issues.

• Familiarity with software quality metrics and compliance reporting.

Embedded Software Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Embedded C programming concepts.

• Basic understanding of microcontroller-based systems and ECU software architecture.

• Knowledge of software development lifecycle within automotive embedded systems.

• Understanding of software integration and debugging techniques.

Automotive Domain Knowledge

• Basic understanding of AUTOSAR Architecture.

• Good understanding of software component interactions, BSW, RTE, and application layers.

• Exposure to automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.

• Awareness of functional safety and automotive software development processes.

Model-Based Development

• Understanding of Model-Based Development (MBD) concepts.

• Familiarity with Simulink models, code generation concepts, and model verification workflows.

• Ability to understand software designs derived from model-based architectures.

Tools & Process

• Experience with configuration management and version control tools (Git preferred).

• Experience with SonarQube for code quality assessment, technical debt analysis, and quality gate monitoring.

•  Knowledge of ASPICE software engineering processes, including software verification, traceability, reviews, and compliance requirements.

• Familiarity with defect management and ALM tools.

• Exposure to CI/CD workflows and automation concepts is an advantage.

• Knowledge of ASPICE software engineering processes is desirable.
