Data Engineer

We see Equiti as a new breed of broker, and we are on the lookout for talented individuals who can perform and excel in a dynamic and innovative working environment. Our Data Engineer department would like to welcome a detail-oriented person.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to support our data infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain data storage solutions, including data warehouses and databases.
• Implement and maintain data governance practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards.
• Work with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs from a data engineering perspective.
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate data from various sources into our data infrastructure.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility through testing and monitoring.
• Document data processes and procedures to ensure they are repeatable and scalable.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging data technologies and techniques and make recommendations for their adoption.
  
  

• Demonstrated knowledge of data warehouse and data engineering fundamentals (SQL, relational databases, star schemas, pipelines, cloud data technologies (data lake, lakehouse, etc. )).
• Strong programming skills in at least one language, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
• Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality principles.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Robust knowledge of documentation and business process management tools and methodologies.
• Analytical mindset, with an inquisitive nature.
  
  

• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e. g., Git).
• 2+ years of commercial experience as a data engineer or in a similar role in a mid-size or larger organization, preferably in the fintech or financial services domain.
• Knowledge/experience in broking, Forex, or financial markets.
• Knowledge of analytics best practices and statistical modeling is a plus.
