Job Summary

The Commis 2 – Pastry assists senior pastry staff in preparing and producing a range of

bakery and dessert items. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals looking to build a

career in pastry arts by gaining hands-on experience and learning fundamental pastry

techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with basic preparation tasks such as measuring, mixing, portioning, and
  
  

• Support the team in producing breads, cakes, cookies, tarts, mousses, and other
  
  

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section according to hygiene and
  
  

• Assist with mise en place for service and daily operations.
• Store ingredients and finished products correctly and safely.
• Follow instructions from senior pastry chefs (Commis 1, DCDP, CDP).
• Help with dishwashing and cleaning duties as required.
• Practice correct handling of kitchen equipment and tools.
  
  

• Basic knowledge of baking and pastry techniques.
• Diploma or coursework in Pastry/Culinary Arts (preferred but not mandatory).
• Previous internship or 6–12 months of kitchen experience (advantageous).
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a professional pastry environment.
• Good hygiene, grooming, and organizational habits.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions accurately.
