Job Description – Gold Buyer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Gold Buyer to manage sourcing, vendor relationships, purchasing, and category planning. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the gold/jewellery market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to make data-driven buying decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute buying plans aligned with sales forecasts, business targets, and category strategies.
• Source products from existing and new vendors while negotiating pricing, MOQs, timelines, and quality standards.
• Analyze sales data, stock levels, sell-through, and category performance to optimize product assortment.
• Work closely with Design, Planning, Retail, and Operations teams to ensure timely product availability.
• Track purchase orders, production schedules, and deliveries to meet launch and replenishment timelines.
• Conduct market, competitor, and trend analysis to identify new opportunities and product gaps.
• Ensure products meet quality, compliance, pricing, and margin requirements.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve issues related to quality, pricing, production, and delivery.
• Support seasonal range reviews, category planning, range building, and performance reporting.
• Monitor market trends and gold price movements to support effective buying and sourcing decisions.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 2+ years of experience in Gold / Jewellery Buying, Merchandising, or Sourcing.
• Strong understanding of the gold and jewellery industry and vendor ecosystem.
• Good commercial acumen with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Design, Planning, Retail, and Operations.
• Candidates with experience in gold jewellery companies, manufacturers, wholesalers, or jewellery brands will be preferred.
