We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented Business Analyst II to join our team. In this role, you will turn complex operational data into clear insights, define business requirements, and help drive continuous improvement across compliance and verification workflows. Youll collaborate with stakeholders across operations and product to identify gaps, measure performance, and support automation and process improvement initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Data Analysis & Technical Execution
Extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets using SQL, Python, Hadoop/Hive, Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL databases
Perform diagnostic analysis, root cause analysis, variance analysis, and pattern identification
Apply data transformations and statistical techniques to generate actionable insights
Design and maintain automated reporting systems and dashboards
Validate data quality, flag upstream issues, and maintain data integrity
Build and implement KPIs with summarized visuals to track metrics globally
Problem Solving & Decision Support
Solve ambiguous business problems with limited guidance using analytical approaches
Distinguish between one-way and two-way doors in decision-making processes
Conduct comprehensive analysis to support business cases, product pilots, and strategic initiatives
Provide diagnostic insights and recommendations that drive measurable business impact
Navigate uncertainty and propose solutions when problems have less well-defined parameters
Stakeholder Communication & Management
Tailor communication to audience needs, presenting to leaders up to three levels above
Translate complex analytical findings into clear formats for all stakeholder levels
Facilitate productive dialogue, negotiate priorities, and establish shared understanding
Proactively communicate project status, risks, and roadblocks to reset expectations
Create plans, communicate requirements, and clarify success criteria
Project Delivery & Execution
Scope, drive, and deliver complex projects across multiple teams with minimal supervision
Manage timelines effectively and proactively identify risks to deliverables
Deliver consistently high-quality, well-documented work that answers business questions
Incorporate best practices and set quality checks in all analytical work
Balance tradeoffs between time, quality, and resources
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product, Tech, Operations, and other stakeholders
Act as bridge between different teams to deliver optimized solutions
Collaborate with data engineering teams to automate processes and ensure data quality
Prepare and deliver business requirements reviews to senior management
Establish and maintain effective working relationships across teams
Process Improvement & Strategic Contribution
Identify and optimize business processes and data methodologies to improve efficiency
Determine when solutions should be repeatable versus one-time and implement accordingly
Build flexible, scalable solutions that anticipate business changes
Contribute to team business strategy using deep business expertise
Own items on team-level roadmap and begin to influence broader strategy
Team Development & Leadership
Mentor and develop junior analysts
Participate in recruiting and interviewing for the team
Share knowledge and optimize analytical best practices across the team
Build trust through consistent delivery and proven business impact
About The Team
Relay Product Excellences mission is to monitor Transaction Integrity for products supporting Identity Verification, Account Support, and Compliance across Carrier and Driver processes. Our team works at the intersection of risk management, regulatory compliance, and data-driven operations — partnering with product and technology teams to ensure the integrity and reliability of processes at scale.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science, or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
Experience communicating results to senior leadership, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
3+ years analyzing and interpreting data using SQL, Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, Hadoop/Hive, or similar technologies
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL with ability to handle large datasets
Ability to deliver high-quality work with limited guidance
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or related fields
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts, and negotiating timelines
Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
3+ years relevant work experience in related fields beyond basic requirements
Technical expertise in Data Science, ML, and Statistics
Experience with data mining, and statistical algorithms
Proven track record driving cross-functional projects to completion with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to distinguish between one-way and two-way doors in decision-making
