Quality Systems Strategy Lead - RQS Operations

As a member of the RQS Systems Startegy and Digital Excellence Team within the Healthcare R&D Regulatory - Quality - Safety Operations (RQS Ops) team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic evolution and further development of the main systems supporting our Quality Assurance function. This position is instrumental in positioning technology as a key driver of organizational success, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

In this role you will act as process owner for the Veeva Vault based Quality Management System and related supporting systems, establishing strategic development roadmaps based on business and regulatory needs and the management of the corresponding releases to extend their functionalities and provide continuos improvement for user experience, processes, and data quality.

Through strategic vendor partnerships, industry peers and stakeholder collaboration, you will play a key role to maximize the return on technology investments, ensuring that systems are optimized for efficiency and compliance.

This position emphasizes the importance of user engagement as a catalyst for innovation, leveraging insights from user groups and feedback forums to shape system evolution. In collaboration with the Change Management, Communication & Training Lead prioritizing effective communication and information dissemination, the role enhances organizational agility, enabling stakeholders to adapt swiftly to changes and capitalize on new functionalities.

Your Key Accountabilities Will Be

  • Strategic Planning: Develop strategic roadmaps for RQS systems in scope and oversee their development in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Requirements Management: Gather and prioritize requirements by engaging with governance bodies and user groups to identify business needs that enhance efficiency, speed, and quality within the global RQS environment.
  • Project Delivery: Lead system change projects and initiatives to optimize the existing system functionalities, ensuring effective implementation and user acceptance.
  • Data Strategy Alignment: Align system development activities with the RQS Business Data Strategy and RQS Reporting & Analytics Strategy, cooperating with internal and external stakeholders to support timely access to high-quality critical data.
  • Vendor Engagement: Engage with vendors and business stakeholders to ensure system development aligns with company strategy maximing the value of our technology investements.
  • Collaboration Promotion: Maintain close communication with all RQS functions to promote synergies and effective collaboration across the existing RQS system landscape.

Who You Are

You are a proactive IT professional with a passion for quality and compliance, ready to contribute to a dynamic, team-oriented culture.

  • University degree required. Advanced degree desirable. Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years experience or relevant experience in management and development of IT systems in the pharmaceutical industry operating under GxP conditions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), GxP Validation and underlying IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to assess complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; able to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Professional, positive attitude with the ability to contribute to a dynamic, team-oriented culture.
