The Analyst role within ATS ACES (Amazon Customer Excellence System) organization is responsible for converting data into actionable business insights that drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role serves as an analysis expert who leverages various data platforms and analytical tools to provide timely, meaningful, and consumable information that supports operational excellence and process improvement across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Convert data into actionable business insights through advanced analytical techniques
  • Translate business problem statements into clear analysis requirements and data specifications
  • Conduct quantitative examination of key process indicators to identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis using statistical methods and Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Extract insights and formulate recommendations that impact processes, teams, or departments

Data Acquisition & Management

  • Write efficient SQL queries to extract and process data from various sources
  • Work with structured data in traditional data storage environments and non-traditional sources
  • Ensure data quality through cross-checking and validation against available sources
  • Convert raw data into analysis-ready formats through descriptive statistics, aggregations, and pivots

Reporting & Visualization

  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics using tools like QuickSight, Tableau, or Excel
  • Create appropriate charts and visualizations to effectively communicate findings
  • Implement data visualization and communication tools (metrics dashboards, decks, flashes)
  • Deliver regular reporting with high quality and easily digestible formats

Stakeholder Communication & Influence

  • Communicate analysis findings and business implications effectively to stakeholders
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand the value of analysis and drive consensus
  • Provide visibility and updates on project timelines and deliverables
  • Present deep dives and narratives that influence business direction

Project Management

  • Manage expectations and prioritize workload effectively
  • Facilitate execution of ACES strategy through local management and support teams
  • Oversee segments of site project portfolios, assisting project managers with execution
  • Audit completed projects to verify sustained impact and partner with Finance to validate results

Continuous Improvement Support

  • Support ACES projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools
  • Provide process knowledge and data collection support for improvement initiatives
  • Help teams identify improvement areas and quantify benefits from effort/labor time, cost, cycle time, and defect reduction perspectives
  • Drive culture of innovation and continuous improvement within teams

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience
  • Masters degree or above in relevant field, or 3+ years of advanced Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  • Bachelors degree or above in a related field
  • Work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts
  • Experience in SQL Server/MySQL, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities and experience in deploying identity and access management systems
  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
  • Experience with MS Project, MS Office, and MS Sharepoint
  • Experience in business analysis and functional roles requiring quantitative, analytical and organizational skills
