Job Description
- Initiate and monitor cost reduction drive with the supplier for project-based and YoY to achieve cost reduction and be competitive in the market
- Consistently create cost effective supplier base and overcome single supplier dependencies
- BOM analysis for cost contributors and initiate cost reduction program
- Timely working out the latest Product cost and sharing with the Deal desk for bid/quote to customers
- Periodic updating of the product BOM cost for the latest parts cost and sharing reports with the Deal desk
- Conduct period supplier audits and supplier rating
- Measuring, Monitoring & Improving the suppliers performance on Quality, Cost & Delivery
Responsibilities
- Identification, Evaluation and selection of cost-effective suppliers in line with the Tejas Sourcing process
- Create a pool of cost-effective alternative suppliers for each part to bring the flexibility in terms of Cost, quality and delivery.
- Get competitive quotations, compare technical specifications and commercials, negotiate and finalise the prospective suppliers base.
- Initiate the sample purchase, get samples from suppliers, and coordinate for sample evaluation and acceptance
- Initiate and drive cost reduction program for YoY cost reduction and project-based cost reduction
- Update the latest parts cost in the product BOM cost and share with the Deal desk on a regular Intervals
- Analyse the BOM, identify the cost contributors and initiate the cost reduction program
- Initiate and drive the Value Engineering process to bring down the cost
- Conduct Periodic Suppliers Audits and supplier performance rating along with the quality team
- Initiate and drive the quality system requirements (ISO9000/TL9000/ ISO14001/OHSAS 18000) for suppliers and maintain the records for Internal and external audits by customers’ / ISO certification auditors,
- Ensure that the selected suppliers meet the quality system requirements (ISO9000/TL9000/ ISO14001/OHSAS 18000)
- Ensure that the various Sourcing and BOM costing KPIs and parameters are achieved and continually improved
- To train and develop the Sourcing & Procurement management team members to the required skills continuously
Qualifications
- Experience : Min 15 to 20 years in Sourcing, BOM costing, and cost management domains in Electronics and Telecom
- Education : BE – Electronics & telecommunications or Equivalent
