We are seeking a proficient and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in CAD tools such as Siemens NX and PLM Teamcenter. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles and demonstrate excellent conceptual design, CAD modeling and drafting skills. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and high-quality product designs. The candidate should be capable of deep diving into Product Lifecycle Management processes to support design, development, and release activities, ensuring design integrity and efficiency throughout the product development cycle
Our Team
This team has global engineering ownership across several Connector Product Lines, provides Product Design and Validation Services to customers and stakeholders in Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division located across the globe. The Division primarily provides products and solutions that go into Datacenter and related infrastructure that powers cloud computing, artificial intelligence, etc. The position will be part of this engineering team at Molex India Business Services.
What You Will Do
Utilize Siemens NX software to conceptualize and develop new designs, 3D models and assemblies of mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy, precision, and adherence to design specifications.
Collaborate with Supervisors and cross functional team members to interpret technical specifications and voice of customers, and convert them into detailed designs, 3D models and 2D drawings.
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), and release packages, within Teamcenter.
Manage and organize Design and CAD files, ensuring proper version control and data integrity within Teamcenter.
Conduct design reviews, participate in cross-functional meetings, taking the lead in providing technical insights and actions for design improvements.
Perform tolerance analysis and verification of parts and assemblies to ensure fit, form, and function.
Conduct design feasibility studies, identifying potential issues or constraints and proposing solutions to optimize designs.
Conduct risk assessment and come up with solutions to mitigate impact.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing and production teams to address design-related issues, resolve manufacturing discrepancies, and support the development of efficient manufacturing processes.
Ability to work independently, take the lead to mentor and guide junior team members in execution of projects, meeting project timelines and quality requirements
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
6 to 9 years in Product Design, Development & Modification, Product Validation & Testing, Sustenance & Field Application support
Demonstrated technical ability in taking the lead engineer role in projects and design activities
Proven leadership skills in mentoring and guiding junior engineers
Ability to evaluate risk in design, come up with mitigation plans and assess solution alternatives
Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections
Working knowledge of material selection, product and component manufacturing process
Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as molding, sheet metal tooling, fabrication of components and assembly processes
Proficient in using solid modeling software to generate 3D models & 2D drafting
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
Strong English verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
What Will Put You Ahead
Good knowledge of conventional and advanced Machining, Assembly line process and Prototype techniques.
Proficient in Siemens NX, Team Center and PLM/PDM
Experience working in Connector or related industry
Good knowledge and understanding of electromechanical products, components and assemblies
Experience with New Product Development processes, including design, prototyping, and testing.
Knowledge or Hands on experience in domains like Product Design, Mold Design, Press tool and Die Design
Master’s/Additional qualification in Design/Manufacturing/Tooling engineering from reputed institutes
